Barış Alpaslan is a Professor of Economics. Prof. Alpaslan also holds a number of administrative roles at different levels in the same university. Prof. Alpaslan completed an MSc (with an award of distinction) and then a PhD in Economics at the University of Manchester. Prof. Alpaslan has multiple institutional affiliations with well-known research centres in the UK, Australia, and Egypt. Prof. Alpaslan is a Vice President of the Committee of Experts on the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals at the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO. Prof. Alpaslan has undertaken consultancy services for several international organisations, such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, and International Centre for Migration Policy Development. Prof. Alpaslan is also the representative of Turkey to the Council of Europe Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education (ETINED).
