Our Students Participated in the Event Held at Ankara/Wyndham Hotel on 14-15 December, As Part of WomenUP 2 (Supporting Registered Women Employment Project)

Women-Up 2 is an important financial support program jointly financed by the Republic of Türkiye and the European Union and and run by the Social Security Institution of Türkiye. This project aims to encourage female employers, increase women’s participation in the workforce and their registered employment. It also aims to create new job opportunities for women employees by developing their professional skills and employability. As part of Women-Up 2 Project, 20 students from our department representing our university attended the event held at Ankara/Wyndham Hotel on December 14-15. The event aimed to create awareness on women’s entrepreneurship by providing participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge. Throughout the event, thanks to the seminars and presentations given by academics and experts, our students had the opportunity to get valuable knowledge on women’s entrepreneurship. The participants also learned about innovative projects and applications aimed at increasing women’s participation in the workforce. Following the seminars and presentations, our students have done various group studies on entrepreneurship based on what they learnt through the seminars and presentations. During the event, students from Hacı Bayram Veli University, Ankara University and Social Sciences University of Ankara have been split into 10 teams of 5 students. These teams developed mini projects by conducting interactive brainstorming on different topics. Our students successfully finished this project and increased their personal and professional knowledge through valuable feedbacks from experts. This experience provided our students with an important opportunity in entrepreneurship, leadership and women's empowerment in the business world, and was an important step in their careers. Taking part in this important project was a great opportunity to both provide new skills to the participants and to create social awareness about women's entrepreneurship and employment. As Social Sciences University of Ankara, we are proud to be a part of the project and will continue our efforts to increase women's participation in the workforce.
