Department member Barış Alpaslan visited Mongolia under World Bank Project

Department Member Assoc. Prof. Barış ALPASLAN visited Mongolia between May 27-June 8 as a consultant in World Bank (WB) project, "Mongolia: A Macroeconomic Model for Assessing Macro-Fiscal Vulnerabilities" jointly coordinated by Prof. Pierre-Richard Agenor of Manchaster University and WB senior economist Dr. Jean-Pascal Nguessa Nganou.

During his visit to Mongolia, Assoc. Prof. Barış ALPASLAN has provided training for senior economists and academicians working at the Central Bank of Mongolia, Ministry of Finance, and National University of Mongolia, as well as WB project staff based on "Dynamic General Equilibrium" modelling. Also, he led the project staff in calibrating the theoretical model for 2018 and in coming up with policy implications to eliminate Mongolia's macro-fiscal vulnerabilities.
