Economics Department hosted Central Bank Economist Dr. Ünal Seven on December 4, 2019 as part of the "ASBU SBF Seminars". Dr. Seven gave a talk about his recent research entitled "Agricultural Credit and Agricultural Productivity: Cross-Country Evidence Highlighting Interaction between Credit and Labor Markets".

Prof. Erkan Gürpınar's article, titled "Does Social Learning Promote Cooperation in Social Dilemmas?", has been published in Journal of Economic Interaction and Coordination. Another contributor to the article is also an ASBÜ member, Hasan Çağatay from the Philosophy Department of ASBÜ.

Department Member Assoc. Prof. Barış ALPASLAN visited Mongolia between May 27-June 8 as a consultant in World Bank (WB) project, "Mongolia: A Macroeconomic Model for Assessing Macro-Fiscal Vulnerabilities" jointly coordinated by Prof. Pierre-Richard Agenor of Manchaster University and WB senior economist Dr. Jean-Pascal Nguessa Nganou.

Department Members Prof. Yamaguchi and Assist. Prof. Mahmud will present their joint paper '“Constructing ASD Macroeconomic Model of the Republic of Turkey - Integrated Analysis of GDP and Flow of Funds (Phase 1)” at the International Conference of the System Dynamics Society, to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, July 21-25, 2019.

Central Bank economist Dr. Orhun Sevinç was with us to deliver a speech titled "Skill-Biased Occupation Growth"

As part of ASBÜ FPS Seminar Series, our department was delighted to host Dr. Orhun Sevinç on campus on April 3, 2019. Dr. Sevinç delivered a speech titled "Skill-Biased Occupation Growth" before our faculty members and public audience. Holding a PhD from London School of Economics, Dr. Sevinç is currently working for the Cental Bank of the Republic Turkey.
